This crispy soy garlic tofu is super delicious, it's delicious for any meal! First, you bake the tofu in the oven until it's nice and crispy, then toss it in a sticky sauce made from fresh garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and scallions.
Preheat your oven to 400ºF. Dry your tofu really well. Then, cut your tofu into small cubes (roughly 1" on all sides) and add to a bowl. Toss with salt, pepper, cornstarch, and five spice until every cube is fully coated. Spread the tofu on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned, flipping half way through.
After the tofu is done, add sesame oil to a pan (I use cast iron but you can use whatever pan). Let it heat up then add the fresh minced ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute until lightly golden, then add the soy sauce and brown sugar and let it reduce for 3 minutes. Add the tofu and the scallions, mix to coat all the cubes, and enjoy!
