Easy Chocolate Granola

There is no easier and better breakfast than this chocolate granola, a vegan and gluten-free combo of rolled oats, chocolate, almonds, and more! It’s super crunchy and tasty, but best of all it’s not too sweet to weigh you down in the morning. It’s also pretty customizable if you want to make some simple changes. Literally, it takes about 5 minutes to combine the ingredients and 20-25 minutes to bake.

To make it, you genuinely just mix everything together in a bowl, spread it out on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and toss it into the oven. Then, add in chocolate chunks (measure with your heart) and let it cool. It’s that easy.

The best part is, this recipe is absolutely delicious, vegan, and gluten-free. You can also sub out ingredients as you want. For example, you swap out the almond butter for hazelnut or peanut butter. You can also add different nuts, seeds, and dried fruits to your preference.

I love to eat this with yogurt, berries, and honey, but I know my brother loves it with milk (like cereal). You could pretty much have it any way you want! Finally, for storage, keep it in a dry place and in a tightly sealed container, otherwise it won’t stay crunchy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 3 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Mix together all the ingredients but the chocolate chunks.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet until crunchy. Remove and add chocolate while the granola is warm. Let it cool completely and enjoy!
